Job Name: FOH Service/Bar Manager

Job Description

Our Team is filled with people who are passionate about providing an above-and-beyond experience for guests. The Hard Deck Smokehouse & Rec Room is currently on the hunt to grow its FOH leadership team. We are looking for an experienced full-time leader who can inspire the team and comes with quality customer service skills, innovative brain-power, and a can-do attitude!

KEY Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining excellent guest service and providing an exceptional guest experience across all departments in the venue.
  • Recruit, interview, train and coach FOH staff towards individual success and operational excellence.
  • Continually look for ways to improve the guest experience and enhance teamwork.
  • Manage staff, providing them with constructive feedback while maintaining a high level of employee morale; create an engaging and energetic environment where all associates work as a highly functioning team.

 

KEY Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for executing Groups & Events within the venue, providing exceptional guest service.
  • Protect and enhance the brand.
  • Responsible for completing daily, weekly, and monthly checklists and ensuring inspections are up to date according to internal and external (regulatory bodies) requirements.
  • Understand and implement appropriate disciplinary action for performance and behavioral management.
  • Ensure that the facility consistently meets legislative cleanliness and safety standards, including regularly monitoring the restaurant, gaming floor, redemption, VLT gaming area, and restrooms.
  • Continually look for ways to improve the guest experience and enhance teamwork.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to set priorities for self and others.
  • Ability to develop and motivate staff to achieve challenging goals.
  • Commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow through as necessary.

  • Available for weekends and close shifts.

  • Reel Facts Certified.

 

Qualifications

 

  • 1-3 years of experience managing a high volume restaurant or venue with the primary focus being on guest service excellence.
  • Post-Secondary education, in business and/or hospitality preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
  • Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team during high volume business periods in multiple departments.
  • Strong working knowledge of restaurant industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Ability to supervise employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Highly flexible, with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Proven experience in training, coaching, and mentoring supervisors and employees.
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, employees, and guests.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings, exhibits, and other events.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Required to work flexible hours inclusive of evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 22.5kg (50lbs)

 

Hours of Work

 

44 hours per week, overtime as required

Monday to Friday – 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Closed on lunch hours, statutory holidays and weekends.
